Perspective shifts - Your Choices
TED
We are all living in a world where there is constant social and economic change - wars, relationships, work, income, health and more. So how do we react? Or do we react? Well, this is open to be discussed, here I share my view. When you look into the mirror what do you see? Possibly just you, the same old you that never changes. Hi world its me again..what did i miss?! I think you missed a lot. When we look into mirrors we see exactly what we want to see and have the ability to shift that perspective at any time we wish to, the joys of life, freedom and creativity. Some call it delusion, possibly even you reading this now but hear me out for a second, I have evidence to support my case.
The cover of this post is house cat looking into the mirror and seeing a braveheart lion who has battled and won. The cat simply believes it is a lion, so it behaves like a lion, proud in its stride, sure in its growl, and pure with its eyes. Powerful right..Through self belief the perspective of the cat shifts and now the cat has the abilities of a lion, almost as if it has casted a spell and it is magic, this simple act is true for us humans of today. Now, to enter more detail of why the shift changes everything. The cat undertakes every action as a lion would, into to every detail, longer stares of eye contact, a slightly open mouth, just name a few adjustments. The world around the cat begins to change, everything and everyone around the cat can see and feel the cats aura, this cant just be a normal cat can it? Seems special to me, the owners of this particular cat begins to tell friends and family that their cat behaves like a lion and does not let up being fiercesome, its so funny to see something so small behaving so big. Do not underestimate the cat as its bite is now as sharp as a lion and could do harm into to protect itself (Not that a cat would do anything to hurt anybody). In contrast, a dog named Teddy shitzu breed, small and mighty behaves the same, when it sees itself in the mirror it does not see a small, weak and tame pet, it sees a protector, defender and a warrior. Teddy's bark is loud and aggressive, intrudors are not welcome unless the owner says so.
Owner: Teddy please stop barking it is only my friend Sommer.
Teddy: No response *Bark carefully silences.
Now for us humans...

How could a 17 year old kid be an international global superstar, achieving monumental success? Yes, you are thinking well he is extremely talented.. That is definitely true but only a small part of the truth, there are many talented kids around the world but none who are achieving anywhere near the same heights as Lamine Yamal , the reason has complexities but it can be made simple, his perspective of himself has shifted, he deems himself a king. One who believes he is a king is centuries closer to realising that potential against one who simply does not believe. Many people write books and blogs about self belief but allow me to narrow this down into a few meaningful words. Why chose to be a peasant, when you can can choose to be a king? Make the right choice now.
So it is done, you have now opted to leave behind your old self, the pessimistic person who doubts that any decent idea that comes to mind could actually come true. You now view the world through the clear lens of optimism and understanding that of course hard work and reality must be kept in touch with at all times to avoid any complacent pitfalls. But, what you should feel now is increased power. Energy fully charged and optimised, your words are meaningful, your stride is proud with grace, your attire represents exactly who you are FREE. You are free to roam, to imagine the great things life has to offer and ready to capitalise on it all and take what is rightfully yours.
Changing your perspective of yourself is just the entry level point. Now onto the next...
Gratitude
How many times per day do you complain?
If the answer is above 1 than it is far too many.
Yes, perhaps the things you complain about are done because you have reason to believe that warrants you to release your urge of negativity, but why release poison to other people? There is never a need. Shift your perspective, practice gratitude instead, it works. For every complaint there is possibility to shift this perspective, I can bore you with many examples of how this is done, but that would be a waste of time, here is a couple.
Complaining/Pessimisim: Why is my partner always late to meet me, its so frustrating.
The shift/optimism: At least my partner arrived and I get to spend great quality time with them - for tragedies happen to people every day.
Complaining/Pessimism: My lectures are so boring and I struggle to stay awake some times.
The shift optimism: I am going to actually dedicated my time to concentrate on my lectures from now on because I know there as some hidden gems that I could use for the rest of my life.
This is just a couple examples, but the list can honestly be endless. We should all start to appreciate everything and everyone much more, as nothing unfortunately lasts forever but our love for each other will.
Your Dreams
Now, for remember those things you dream about. Being a parent, writer, business owner, athlete, anything. You can do it, trust me. You do not have good reason to trust me and you do not need to, I am living proof. As a young boy, playing football around my parents living room creating mini goals out of sofa pillows, breaking items and windows, never in a million years did I initially think I would go on to be a professional football player. My perspective shift happened when I was about 10/11 years old, I did not play for any football club before this or have any particular interest in playing, aside of against my brothers in my parents living room. I remember watching Manchester United play, the moment was a trigger. Ryan Giggs running down the wing putting in cross after cross and never tiring, packed out stadiums, red jerseys everywhere, I was in pure awe, I had to have it, I had to be one of the guys playing on the pitch. When I was 10/11 years old my perspective shifted then because I became obsessed, I wanted to be there, a professional player, in that moment it was decided. I remember looking at myself in the mirror and seeing a professional footballer. I acted like it, maybe not instantly but very quickly. I trained 6/7 days per week (yes that is pretty much every day). I could not stop, I was very addicted and I let it take over me. The result was, within 12 months I was signed at Watford Football Club professional academy and I went on to play for the first team in the Premier League against Manchester City & Spurs. (There is more detail to this story which I will share in a separate post)

Its powerful.
My perspective shifted honestly accidentally, but it is not an accident you are reading this. Here I share my truths, act on it yourself, share with family & friends. I write this to spread awareness that all things are possible.
Your welcome.
